This position will service the technical support for the flexible packaging and corrugated equipment in accordance with programing, diagnostics troubleshooting of electrical circuitry and Allen Bradley PLC programs. Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, mid/night shift Essential Functions listed below describe the major responsibilities of the position but should not be considered conclusive. Essential Functions: Troubleshoot all aspects of maintenance (example: mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Modify existing programs from customer requirements.
Select and configure Allen Bradley, B&R, Siemens, Omron and other automation devices such as VFDs for automation/control.
Work with customers and suppliers to define equipment specifications, resolve fabrication issues, and resolve quality issues.
Maintain an understanding of design, layout, and use of current networks such as Profibus, Ethernet, etc.
Provide direct assistance to field personnel to resolve electrical program issues.
Provide technical support in developing and improving processes.
Assist in the integration, startup and debugging of plant floor equipment.
Ability to perform electrical diagnosis, as well as recommend and/or perform repair as needed.
Collaborate with in-house Service Department personnel to troubleshoot electrical/programming related issues.
Ability to be called to any machine center and troubleshoot the problem and oversee that it is repaired correctly.
Must report all problems to the Maintenance Manager and shift leadership.
Report any safety violations and insure that LOTO is being used correctly at all times.
Provide maintenance calls to the bagging unit as 1st priority, and corrugated calls as 2nd
Spend 80% of the day on the floor overseeing machine centers and 20% of the day reporting to the Maintenance Manager as well as the shift leadership.
Communicate to the oncoming shift any problems that may need attention.
Must be on call as needed when scheduled. Requirements: This position requires a great deal of judgment, interpersonal communication skills, time management, space assessment skills, organization, ability to multi-task, verbal and written communication skills, mathematics, computer literacy and an understanding of both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Knowledge of communication and controls networking principles.
Extensive knowledge of National Electrical Code and NFPA regulatory standards.
Have thorough knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques.
Have strong computer skills including: AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving, critical thinking, and be a committed team player with strong leadership and performance management skills capable of stepping up to assure that projects are completed.
Knowledge of robotic motion system.
Self-motivated and hands on approach with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments.
Follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Must have 5-7 years of previous mechanical and electrical experience in an industrial background, preferably in the packaging industry. Education High School Diploma or GED required.
Requires Industrial Electrician Certification or equivalent education and work experience
Must have a working knowledge of PLC ladder logic and Allen Bradley micro logic/control logic control systems.
