We are looking for passionate and engaging teachers to join team at our Fern Creek, KY location
At Sylvan we have a complete process that begins by analyzing each childs strengths and areas for improvement. We then develop an individualized education plan based on these results. We offer programs for all ages and grade levels, in reading, writing, math, homework support, study skills, and ACT/SAT Test Prep. We also offer enrichment courses in STEM standards including Math Edge, Engineering, Robotics with Legos, and our Programming/Game Design course.
Teacher / Instructor (Part:time)
General Summary
As a part:time Sylvan
Teacher/Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep and State exams to students of all levels.
We are looking for fun and engaging state:certified teachers who love to work in a collaborative learning environment, who have a passion for education, and who desire a flexible part:time teaching schedule. Most teaching sessions during the school year are held during the evening (3pm:8:30pm) and on Saturdays (10am:2pm). During summer break most sessions are held Mon:Thurs and Sat. during the day.
Bachelors degree
State level teaching certification (current or expired, not required for Math Instruction)
Satisfactory background check and drug testing results

Essential Job Functions
Deliver Quality Education:
:Teach using Sylvan based programs
:Instruct, interact with and motivate students during instruction time while they work with equipment and materials
:Provide feedback on and reward students for completed assignments
:Evaluate and document student progress
:Help students make progress in their learning agenda, and experience success with the Sylvan program.
:Communicate student needs to the Center Director and Director of Education
:Deliver a high level of customer service both for students and parents.
:Secure repeat recommendations from parents.
:All functions are performed in:center, and require proficiency manipulating learning programs on computers or electronic tablets and working with other printed learning materials as required for the program of instruction.
Inspire Students:
:Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment.
:Strong desire to work with children and young people and to make a positive difference in their lives by helping them to master educational topics and be confident in their learning capabilities.
:Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan.
