Start date: Immediate Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: Eve 12 Telemetry RNs use high-tech equipment such as ventilators, cardiovascular monitors, pulse oximeters and infusion pumps to monitor patients' vital statistics including blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, and O2 saturation. Telemetry nurses work with patients with diabetes, heart disease, gastrointestinal illness, cancer, and other disorders. Tele nurses who treat cardiovascular patients must be skilled in administering and reading electrocardiogram tests. Registered Nurses who work in telemetry units also carry out traditional RN duties, including administering medications, performing diagnostics, recording medical histories, and communicating with patients and family.
